Zoo Rules. Turtle Back Zoo is a smoke-free facility. No Vape/ E-Cigarette. Visitors age 17 and under must be accompanied by a chaperone. Pets are NOT permitted. Guests who rely on service animals may bring them into the Zoo once they check in at our Guest Services to receive additional on-grounds information. Departing from Turtle Back Junction, the zoo’s miniature train ride takes visitors through the beautiful South Mountain Reservation. The train is a perfect way to cool down on a hot day. The train departs approximately every 15 minutes from the station, and is wheelchair accessible.
