It's a Giga-Level creature with 70k health and high damage. Not a lot of creatures are able to kill it. "Rexes are stronger than usual dinos," probably because it's not a usual dino. yes rex are strong but by far not as strong as some apex ones like giga and carcha.

A level 100 something Phiomia only filled it about 20%. All you need to do is kill your tame from a safe distance out of aggro range and drag it over to the carchar. Instead of trying to kill you, it will just smell the air like a dog, walk over to you, and take a chomp, where you do take a small amount of damage.
Step 1 look for scorpions. Step 2 tame. Step 3 mount it. Step 4 look for carno, rex, etc. Step 5 just attack they dont agro insects (evil laugh) Step 6 watch as they fall unconcious. Step 7 shove prime meat down their throat. Step 8 wait or roam around the map. Step 9 tap yourself for a job well done in taming.

He tamed a 108, and with 100 kill count, it was doing nearly 900 damage. Imagine a max melee mutated one... (also, in terms of stats, they're very similar to gigas. Get a huge debuff to health (70000 wild health to 17000 when tamed), crap stamina. Super fast though, and still better stam than gigas. Only thing worth levelling is melee.
