Problem is the shift solenoid is in 1st gear now while the truck is in park up on ramps. Attempted to shift the transmission manually but cannot get the white plastic linkage removed, don't wanna break it.Dec 21, 2019 · I do trust the service manager at this dealership and he definitely knows the lingo and they have mechanics there with big diesel trucks that are tuned and all that so I feel like they know what they're doing. I am running a Mini Maxx dpf and egr delete since around 110,000, new 68RFE transmission with extended pan and a trans cooler. The issue began on a morning commute to work.

So after singing high praises about my old Ram, coming home tonight the trans. downshifted into 4th again and stayed there. It is showing code P1776 now. Might be a shift solenoid after all.

It acts like it's stuck in neutral all the time and all the lights work normally when selecting any of the gear selections.
