The 400 explorer came out in 1995. I purchased a new 1996 and had it until 2008 only issue I had was the key for the speedo cable kept breaking after replacing twice I gave up. Long story short I have no history of the quads previous runnability, but I did rebuild the carburetor with a kit. I have no previous experience with carburetors, so this is a learning curve. First crank the quad started immediately.
