Jeep jk running hot.

Engine Shuts off after warms up. Unfortunately, it stopped running on the way home. The engine dies after it warms up, and won't start up again until it cools all the way back down. A rich air.fuel mixture will give an O2 out of spec fault; however, the problem could be the IAC valve not working and making the fuel rich and giving an out of spec reading setting off the code. Along these lines you could also have a bad fuel pressure regulator.

Thermostat is not that old (about a year) so I replaced the PCV valve which was toast (and quite a pain in the arse). At idle or even low speeds (45-50) it’s fine. But as speed increases the temp goes up.

Chrysler immediately said that the issue was due to a crack in the thermostat housing that was bleeding coolant back into the core. According to the dealer, Chrysler said it is a rapant issue (although my dealer has never encountered one) and the part is on back order. Bad news is the part may take a month to get.The pentastar does run on the hot side for better efficiency. Also keep in mind that the coolant temperature sensor is located at the left (driver) side engine head. Coolant is pushed by the pump through the engine block (around the cylinders) then through the heads and on to the oil heat exchanger, heater core and radiator via the thermostat.
