I am struggling to find a pattern with the behavior. It's merely irritating to drive around with orange warning lights ablaze in a brand new car..

Hold down the RAB icon on the screen. It takes about 3-5 seconds to turn off. I seem to be having trouble locating that. On my Outback, the RAB icon is on the bottom left of the touch screen. Sorry if that's not in the same place on the Forester.

Subaru wisely gives you the knucklehead option to back into a wall, or back a trailer up, by letting you override the system with continuous light throttle. Put car in reverse. On the screen next to the camera view hold your finger on RAB to disable it. I have a hitch mount rack that lives on the car and RAB turns off with an announcement each time you first back up. It does work. The RAB is detecting the rack and automatically hitting the brakes.
