Both of my fobs started acting up in January when the car was 3.5 years old. Push button start wouldn't work without putting them in a little pocket in the front of the console. I went out shopping today with several stop lights and stop streets. I noticed that the stop/start feature isn't working. The Terrain was completely warmed up and the shifter was in drive. It wasn't cold outside (62F) and the heater fan was on low speed. My 2012 Malibu is again working using the Manual shift mode. The manual shift +- button never felt right to the touch. I decided to investigate. It appeared to me to be inaccessible to the switch, in the gear shift knob. There is just no way to get the covering off the gear shift knob without cutting it.
