These numbers are from the front pad. 21B650536 K04 17 CTL. This block is a 2 bolt main and has the 3970010 cast in the back of the block then up above that is K 9 cast into the block. I looked up the head casting numbers 3998920 and it said they are 72-73 350. The intake valves are big on these heads.Am trying to get info on my small block chevy. Casting number is 3970010. Stamped numbers are V0205ZAH and 19S423482. Near as l can find out through the internet l have an engine manufactured in 1979 to be installed in a 1980 Vette. I would think 1978 cause the small pad in the front of the engine is the smaller square shape not the longer more narrow older style pad for 1968. The pad is smooth so theres no engine codes. Don't go all the way to 60 over for the first build though. Go 30 over this time and then 10 over for each rebuilt after. If you go 60 over now then when it comes time to rebuild you will be screwed and have to buy a new block. Like.
