If you know you're timing and are quick with your songs he can save an entire party from the brink of death in the middle of the worst mobs. He can make a pretty good mid-DPS CC offensive mage as well but you still need passives from the support side ... I then run cole for huge dps and tempest bow inquisitor. sundering from cole also helps toslow when immune. I have 2: The original line-up: Me (Qunari Rogue), Solas, Varric and Cassandra and Me (Elf Mage), Iron Bull, Varric and Cole. I have a thing about racial representation I guess haha. On top of that, Cassandra is better for tanking Jaws of Hakkon on nightmare far better. And JoH is the hardest content in the game IMHO. The reason I suggest her, is that CC becomes more important than an extra Walking Fortress buff. The problem is the champion can still be one-shot with the stacking debuff in JoH.Ring of Slicing.
