It is a reservoir. Not really an overflow. If your coolant is boiling into the reservoir then either your coolant was low to begin with, the cap is bad, or something more major like thermostat or head gasket. Fill reservoir. Open radiator. Fill radiator. Run bike with cap off until you see fluid flowing. Top off radiator and then close the cap.
