I believe that the power to closed that relay coms from the ECM, just like the power for the Lift Pump. There are several with the same part number and are interchangeable.There is no need to 'bypass' the solenoid electrically -- if it is open internally it will not draw any power. But you do need the solenoid plunger to retract so fuel will flow to the engine for the diesel to start and run.
